Hi friends! Happy (second week of) August! I missed sending the July newsletter even though—or more likely because—that was a busier month than right now. But it was fun to play a bunch of weekend road dates with Johnny Max, Raoul Bhaneja, and Trombone Charlotte among others. And right now with some time on my hands I've been enjoying the slower later half of the summer. Mainly because since moving in May, it has felt at times like I haven't been fully settled, still with things to sort out now. But at least it's feeling like home now, and I've got a functioning practice/work space. Not to make it too much about material and furniture, but a desk that fits has made a difference. Here's a look at my NPR “Tiny Desk” inspired setup.

For now and looking ahead to the end of the summer, I still have a few BD Beats dates coming up with my trio on the Danforth including tonight! Plus I'll be playing some solo piano sets, and there's a whole bunch of great artists I'll be accompanying this month and in September.
Trio at BD Beats tonight and next week
I'll be playing two more times at BD Beats on the Danforth, presented by Broadview Danforth BIA. Tonight, August 12, and next Friday, August 21.
I'll be there with two different lineups. Tonight with Nicholas Campbell on guitar and Matt Greco on drums, then next week with Steve Briggs on guitar and Kyle Sullivan on drums! Both dates are on the parkette in front of Papyrus at 337 Danforth, 6-9 PM. Stay tuned to the weather on the day of, since the show doesn't go on in the event of rain, but for now the immediate forecast I'm looking at is calling for clear skies. Come and say hi!

Assorted solo sets, and Blue Standard at the new LaRev
I still have a number of solo piano gigs coming up. I'll be at The Painted Lady on Ossington as part of their Winesday series, on Wednesday, August 19 and September 16 at 6-9 PM.
Saturday, August 22 I'll be I'll be playing solo in front of Kleinburg Cafe as part of the Summer Music Series presented by Toronto Jazz Collective and the Kleinburg BIA, 2-5 PM.
And on Thursday, September 3, Raoul Bhaneja and I will be bringing our duo Blue Standard to LaRev at their new location! 825 Runnymede Rd (Runnymede and St Clair), 7-9 PM!

Collette Savardat The Tranzac (Southern Cross): Friday, August 14 and September 11, 7 PM. This Friday, Collete will be joined by myself and Saskia Tomkins.
Southside Shufflein Port Credit: Saturday and Sunday, September 12-13 I'll be there two out of the three days that weekend, but somehow still playing in three different configurations. On Saturday with Suzie Vinnick (Mainstage) On Sunday with (uncle) Ken Whiteley's Sunday Gospel Special (World Stage) and with The Weber Brothers (Mainstage) Check the festival website for stage locations and times, I know I will be!
